The Young Shakespeareans
Transforming Futures through the Power of Arts Education

OUR PEOPLE
Shared Values, Priorities, and Passion
LOS ANGELES' FUTURE DEPENDS ON THE SUCCESS OF ALL OF OUR CHILDREN.
The Young Shakespeareans Staff & Teaching Artists, our Partners, Collaborators, and Funders are passionate professionals devoted to creating equitable opportunities and futures for children regardless of race, color, ethnicity, language, origin, religion, or socio-economic status.

Education is the way forward. TYS was founded and exists expressly to discover, cultivate, and celebrate every child's innate intelligence, talent, spirit, and drive. We “level the playing field” by weaving the threads of what we have in common with those of diverse cultures and histories to build bridges that will successfully carry our society forward.
TYS throws down the gauntlet with high expectations so our students consistently soar as they learn
"If I can do Shakespeare, I can do anything!"

While imparting the blend of academic and artistic knowledge embedded in TYS curricula, they model the human attitudes and behavior we seek to cultivate: awareness, respect, accountability, resilience, and kindness.
