ZOEY ZIMMERMAN

Zoey Zimmerman, M.F.A. is a theater director, acting coach, writer, activist, actor, and veteran teaching artist; for 30+ years she has guided young people into the craft of theater making.  Directing projects include Shakespeare’s Macbeth, Hamlet, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and The Tempest, as well as a variety of modern plays and several original pieces for the eco-political, Los Angeles based street theater troupe “FrogWorks.”  Her adaptation of Grahame’s The Wind in the Willows (pub. Playscripts, Inc.) has been produced widely throughout the U.S. and internationally.

 

She holds an M.F.A. in Acting from Yale School of Drama, was full time theater faculty at Crossroads School for Arts and Sciences for 26 years (now emeritus), and continues to freelance.  In addition to being a Teaching Artist with TYS, Zoey is also Creative Director of The Riot Stage, a teen acting company based at The Odyssey Theater in West Los Angeles.
